In her first year as an assistant coach, Lauryn Taylor brings an elite competitive and academic résumé highlighted by record-breaking performances, championship success, and immediate program impact.

While at VCU, she helped the VCU women’s program capture a total of five Atlantic 10 Conference Championships across indoor and outdoor seasons. She is the current VCU 60-meter record holder and a current VCU 4x100 relay record holder, while maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA and earning her master's degree in Center for Sport Leadership while actively competing during the 2024–2025 season. Her career includes a 2025 A-10 Indoor Championship sweep in the 60-meter and 200-meter dashes, setting a meet record in the 200 meters, along with a 2025 A-10 Outdoor 4x100 relay championship and a second-place finish in the 100 meters. In 2023, she was named Most Outstanding Track Performer at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championships, captured A-10 titles in both the 100 and 200 meters, and qualified for the NCAA East First Round in the 100-meter dash. Her indoor career includes breaking her own school record in the 60 meters at the A-10 Indoor Championships and winning the A-10 Indoor 200-meter title, while earlier honors include VaSID All-State Second Team, A-10 All-Rookie Team, A-10 Rookie Performer of the Week, A-10 Track Performer of the Week.

Lauryn’s coaching philosophy emphasizes technical precision, mental resilience, and holistic athlete development, preparing her student-athletes to excel both on the track and in the classroom. Her unique blend of championship performance, academic excellence, and leadership now shapes her approach to guiding and developing the next generation of athletes.
