Coach Jacobs enters his second season at Virginia State University. “The program is headed in the right direction. Now we must be patient, be persistence and strive to be perfect,” states Coach Jacobs.

Prior to his arrival to Virginia State University he was the head men’s basketball coach at Clark Atlanta University from 2006-2011. While at Clark Atlanta University, he was able build the Panthers into one of the elite programs in the country. He led the Panthers to two consecutive NCAA tournament appearances (2009-2011); while also leading them to their first SIAC Tournament Championship (2011) in 46 years.

Coach Jacobs was also named SIAC Coach of Year, Atlanta Tip-Off Club/Naismith Georgia College Coach of the year and HRSN runner up for National Coach of the year in 2010.

His teams at Clark Atlanta from 2009-2011 were rank nationally on numerous occasions and in 2010 finished ranked 22nd nationally. Coach Jacobs has been the head coach at numerous collegiate institutions where he has been able to garner championships and several coaches of the year honors. Known as a tireless worker and game strategist his teams have been able to defeat several DI programs during his career. Many consider him one of the elite up and coming coaches in the country.

Coach Jacobs is a native of Paterson, NJ and has over 20 years of collegiate coaching experience to his credit. Coach Jacobs was a two sports standout at William Penn University where he started at running back on the football team and point guard on the men's basketball team. He has played several years professionally in South America and in the USBL. Coach Jacobs has served on the NCAA Men’s Basketball South Region Ranking Committee, Co-Chairperson of the Health and Wellness Program (Clark Atlanta University) and vice president for the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men’s basketball coaches committee. In September of 2012, Jacobs was appointed to serve as a member of the NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Committee.

He is also a member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches as well as the Black Coaches Association.

He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Finance/Accounting from William Penn University in 1988.
