Vatel Dixon enters his third season with the Virginia State University Trojan Football team as the Director of Player Personnel.
Dixon is a 1978 graduate of Virginia State College (now VSU) with a BS Degree in Woods Technology and Drafting.
Prior to Virginia State, Dixon coached football in Chesterfield County Public Schools (CCPS) for 21 seasons and was among the first African-American Head football coach in the history of Chesterfield County. He also coached Track and Field in CCPS for 33 seasons. Dixon’s coaching led to the success of Kellie Wells, 2012 Summer Olympic bronze medalist.
Dixon retired from CCPS in June 2012 and is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc.
