Jamar Hinton completed his first season in 2023 as an Assistant Baseball Coach at Virginia State University. 2024 will mark his second season as an assistant for the Trojans.
Hinton is a graduate of Virginia State and a two-year member (2017 & 2018) of the Trojans Baseball program.
In his career at Virginia State, Hinton compiled a 13-7 record on the mound with a 5.15 ERA and racked up 121 strikeouts in 127.1 innings pitched. Hinton batted .313 in 79 games, recording 72 hits, 43 runs batted in, 40 runs scored, 24 walks, and 15 doubles.
Hinton transferred to Virginia State from North Carolina Central. As an Eagle, he made a total of 35 appearances on the mound and pitched 53 innings over 2015 and 2016.
Hinton is a native of Petersburg, VA and graduated from Dinwiddie High School in 2013, where he was a two-time all-district selection and three-time district champion.
