Elizabeth City, N.C. — Virginia State University delivered a dominant performance on Saturday, earning an 8-0 shutout victory over Mid-Atlantic Christian at Alligood Field.

The Trojans wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, with Sebastine Daniel finding the back of the net just two minutes into the match off an assist from Ben Allen. Virginia State added three more goals before halftime, taking a commanding 4-0 advantage into the break.

Iverson Garcia Montilla extended the lead in the 16th minute, scoring off an assist from Diddier Rochez Martinez. Neville Assoti added a goal in the 41st minute, assisted by Christian Foster, before Daniel struck again in the 43rd minute with an assist from Garcia Montilla.

The Trojans continued their offensive attack after halftime, scoring four additional goals to complete the shutout.

Ibrahim Diabagate opened the second-half scoring in the 57th minute, followed by Niles Ocasio in the 62nd minute. Isaiah Sims added another goal in the 74th minute, and Andrew Brooks Jr. capped the scoring in the 88th minute on an assist from Edmond Ngwe.

Virginia State finished with 20 shots, including 11 in the second half, while limiting Mid-Atlantic Christian to just two shots for the match. The Trojans also held an 8-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Goalkeeper Elijah Fernandez played all 90 minutes and recorded the shutout as Virginia State's defense kept Mid-Atlantic Christian off the scoreboard.

The Trojans' eight goals came from seven different players, with Daniel leading the way with two goals. Garcia Montilla contributed a goal and an assist, while Allen, Rochez Martinez, Foster and Ngwe each recorded an assist.

Virginia State's balanced offensive attack and strong defensive effort resulted in a convincing 8-0 victory at Alligood Field.
