Richmond, Va. (May 15, 2025)- Virginia State University won the C. H. Williams award at CIAA Spring Meetings.
The C.H. Williams Award is annually awarded to the CIAA institution with the top men's athletic programs, determined by a points system. This season the Trojans have won championships in Men's Cross Country and Basketball. In Cross Country VSU defeated Fayetteville State who won the past two championships by one point (45-46). Men's Basketball won their sixth CIAA Championship this season after earning the top seed in the north and defeating Bluefield State in the championship game. In the regular season the Trojan football team were named co-champions of the CIAA with Virginia Union.
