On a vibrant morning of March 20, 2025, Virginia State University's tennis teams welcomed the challenge of Frostburg State University in an exciting showdown that kicked off at 11 am. Fans were lined up, ready for an exhilarating day of skillful rallies and competitive spirit!

Doubles Matches: In the doubles event, the VSU teams battled fiercely, with mixed results.

Match 1: The first doubles team from Virginia State, featuring German Diaz and Cole Alcala, faced a tough challenge against Krishi Motam and Bryan Jordan. Diaz and Alcala emerged victorious with a hard-fought 6-4 win, displaying remarkable teamwork and precision.

Match 2: The second doubles match saw VSU's duo, Cian Cabodevilla and Nate Burkhardt, taking on Brandon Farmer and Jalen Felix. Despite their best efforts, Cabodevilla and Burkhardt were overpowered, losing 1-6. Farmer and Felix demonstrated superior coordination and effective court coverage.

Singles Matches: In the singles competition, VSU athletes showed incredible resilience and determination, with some impressive victories.

Match 1: Otoo Hintermister faced Melvin Cooper in a dominant performance. Hintermister won in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0, showcasing his powerful serves and consistent groundstrokes.

Match 2: Matt Bolen had a thrilling match against Bryan Jordan. Despite Bolen's strong start, Jordan made a remarkable comeback to win 3-6, 6-4, 7-5. Jordan's resilience and tactical play were key to his victory.

Match 3: Cole Alcala took on Brandon Farmer in another commanding performance. Alcala won convincingly with a 6-1, 6-0 scoreline, demonstrating his consistency and ability to execute a variety of shots under pressure.

Match 4 & 5: The final singles matches, featuring Nate Burkhardt and Cian Cabodevilla, did not have results recorded, but both players were poised to showcase their skills and determination.

The Trojans will return to the court on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at noon to go against the Spartans of Norfolk State University.
