NORFOLK, VA --The Virginia State women's basketball team got a 29-point showing from the bench, but fell 77-53 to the Norfolk State Spartans on the road Sunday.
The Trojans (0-0) had two players score in double figures, led by Kendahl Spearman, who had 15 points and seven rebounds. Maya Ellis added 12 points and Skylar White added eight points.
Virginia State forced 14 Norfolk State turnovers. The Trojans turned those takeaways into 12 points on the other end of the floor. Spearman's one steal led the way for Virginia State.
