Virginia State Men's Soccer Finds Their Grove for the Victory

Misenheimer, NC – The Virginia State University Men's Soccer team celebrated their first victory of the season with a 2-1 win over Pfeiffer University on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 6 PM.

The match was a tightly contested affair, marked by physical play and missed opportunities from both sides. The first half concluded scoreless, despite several promising attempts. Notably, VSU's Yoskar Quintanilla had a shot saved by Pfeiffer's goalkeeper Nick Cutlip, while Caleb Meadows also tried his luck but couldn't find the net.

As the second half began, the Falcons applied early pressure and quickly found the back of the net, taking a 1-0 lead within the first three minutes. However, Virginia State responded with determination, equalizing just ten minutes later when Shane Roach capitalized on a well-placed assist from Ben Allen.

With the score tied at 1-1, the Trojans intensified their efforts. Eddison Duolo and Yoskar Quintanilla made notable plays that threatened Pfeiffer's defense. The breakthrough came when Sebastine Daniel scored the decisive goal, putting VSU ahead 2-1.

With their newfound lead, the Trojans fought hard to maintain their advantage against the Falcons, ultimately securing a hard-fought victory. This win not only boosts their confidence but also sets the stage for an exciting season ahead.

Virginia State's determination and teamwork were evident throughout the match, and fans can look forward to seeing how this momentum carries them forward in the coming games.
