California, PA- The Virginia State University Men's soccer team traveled to fight valiantly but ultimately fell short against California University of Pennsylvania, losing 1-2 in a thrilling encounter. With this upset, the Trojans overall scored 0-3-1, while the Vulcans scored 2-2-1.

 The match between California University of Pennsylvania and Virginia State faced significant delays due to lightning, totaling over three hours. Despite the interruptions, both teams started strong. CAL-M's Arik Landau created early opportunities with two corner kicks and a shot saved by Virginia's goalie,
Xavier Brisbon. Virginia's
Daniel Fombu also tested the Vulcan's keeper, Kiernan Webb, with a notable save. Substitutions were frequent as both teams sought fresh legs, with Vulcans adjusting their lineup multiple times to maintain momentum.
