The Short Story: The Trojans were able to score a season-high 8 runs in their first win of the season. Freshman 
Skye Corum earned her first-career win the matchup. Four Trojans finished with multi-hit plate appearances in the win.
 
 
FIRST GLANCE
	- Alaijah Pratt left her footprints all over the game going 3-4 with a pair of doubles. She also scored a run and drove two in.
 
	- Hailey Darrington found her rhythm from the plate going 3-4 with a run scored and batted in.
 
	- Alani Horton went two of four with a run scored and a run batted in.
 
	- Macy Beville was able to drive a team-high three runs.
 
	- Makailah Harmon went 2-2 with a double and scored three runs.
 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
	- The Trojans were able to take the first lead of the game in the bottom of the second inning thanks to five runs being scored by Virginia State to make the score 5-0.   
 
	- The Senators were held scoreless for two innings before the Trojans exploded again scoring three runs on three hits to take an 8-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth.  
 
	- Davis & Elkins avoided the shutout after scoring a run in the bottom of the fifth inning to make it 8-1.
 
	- The Senators attempted to rally late in the final inning of play but were able to score just one run in the bottom of the eighth inning to make it 8-2.

The Short Story: The Trojans were able to hold the lead until the top of the fifth inning when they allowed the Senators to score eight runs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
	- The Trojans took a commanding 6-2 lead through the first four innings thanks to eight hits.  
 
	- The top of the sixth inning saw the Senators score eight runs on seven hits 11-6.
 
	- The Trojans were only able to score two runs over the remain of the game as Davis & Elkins defeated 13-8.
