Trojans Move to 5-1 in Conference Play After the Sweep Against ECSU

ETTRICK, VA – Despite all of the recent cancellations and postponement's, the Trojans came out fiery on a hot afternoon earning the sweep in the doubleheader 4-0 in the first match and 4-2 in the second match.
 
Match One
Ginger Johnson and Ashleigh Charles won their doubles match 6-2 on the first court while Aaren Johnson and Morgan Best won theirs 7-5 on the third court. Jayce Gaither made quick work of her opponent winning 8-0 on the third singles court. Aaren Johnson was the second Trojan to earn a shutout 8-0 on the sixth court. Ginger Johnson earned the third shutout in a row for the Trojans as she beat her opponent 8-0 on the second court.
 
March Two
The second match was a lot more competitive although Jayce Gaither and Zimaris Smith earned a 6-0 shutout to start the second match on court two. Aaren Johnson and Morgan Best were able to edge out the win over on court three 6-4. Jayce Gaither finished first on court #3 winning her pro set 8-0 in singles. Ginger Johnson took the loss on court #1 8-2 but Aeron Johnson followed up with a win on court #6 8-3. Morgan Best lost a hard fought battle on court #5 8-6. Zimaris Smith remains undefeated on court #4 despite the scare 8-6.
 
Next Up
The Trojans will have a tall task ahead tomorrow as they look to take down the conference leaders in Shaw at 4:00 p.m. Wordale Park in Raleigh, NC.
