RALEIGH, NC – The Trojans pushed their record to a healthy 8-4 after ending the first day of the CIAA Round-Up with a pair of eight-run rule wins beating Fayetteville State 11-3 in the first game and St. Augustine's 15-0 in the second game.
Game 1
The Trojans came out swinging as
Macy Beville added to her RBI column as she put a ball deep enough into left field to allow Alaija Pratt to tag up from third base to give the Trojans their first run of the day to take the lead 1-0 in the bottom of the first inning. The Broncos would go on to fight back with a pair of runs in the top of the second inning to make it 2-1 in favor of FSU. Nia Hall put a high drive into left field for a solo home run in the bottom of the second inning to knot the score at 2. Machenze Flood would later put a jolt into the ball for the second home run of the inning to put the Trojans ahead 3-2 heading into the top of the third inning. FSU would tie the game at three all with a single into right field heading into the bottom of the third inning. The Trojans would score their fourth and fifth runs on yet another home run as the slugger, Macy Beville, homered into left field to bring Alani Horton in to score. Samantha Cunningham would go on to drive Nia Hall in on a double to make the score 6-3 in the bottom of the third inning. After the Trojans added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and two more in the bottom of the fifth inning which allowed VSU to eight-run rule the Broncos with a final score of 11-3.

Game 2
The Trojans exploded for eight runs in the bottom of the first inning which is the most they've scored all year in one inning of play. The squad accumulated 8 hits which allowed them to take an 8-0 lead heading into the top of the second inning.
Nia Hall would go on to score
Macy Beville on a sacrifice fly to extend their lead to 9-0 in the bottom of the second. In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Trojans would add six more runs on seven hits to make to 15-0 which gave the Falcons just one more chance in the top of the fifth inning.
Alaijah Pratt was able to earn a three-up, three down inning to end the game at 15-0 in favor of the Trojans.
