Series History
The VSU Trojans are 5-2 against the Claflin Lady Panthers in the series. The teams met last season, where the Trojans took charge of their home court advantage with a 48-44 win over the Lady Panthers.

The Trojans are 4-6 on the season, 1-1 in the CIAA, under the leadership of VSU's 1^st year head coach Nadine Domond. The squad currently shoots 35% from the field and is averaging 61 points per contest. They rank third in the conference in free throw percentage knocking down 72% of their shots from the foul line and are second in the conference with a turnover margin of 5.4. They look to improve from behind the arc as they shoot just 44-of-191 (23%) from the three-point line. Defensively, VSU is second in the conference in defense points per game (55.5). The Trojans are leading in the CIAA in opponent three-point percentage forcing opponents the field and 21% from beyond the arc against them and are third in opponents field goal percentage (34%). They average 11.2 steals per game while forcing 22 turnovers per contest. 
Sommer Blakemore leads the team with 16 points per game; shooting 42% from the field, and averages 4.1 free throws, 2.9 steals and 2.9 assists per game. Kylah Webb leads the Trojans in rebounds, averaging 5.4 boards per game.


Scouting the Claflin Lady Panthers
Claflin leads the CIAA offensively after coming off of a win over Elizabeth City State University, moving them to an 8-2 season record, 2-0 in the conference. The Lady Panthers are averaging 76 points per game while allowing 58. They shoot 42% from the field, 34% from three-point range and 78% from the foul line. Claflin averages 41.3 rebounds and 13.9 assists per game. They are averaging 17 turnovers per game while allowing opponents to score 15 points off turnovers. They have average 11 steals and 2 blocks on the season. Lauren Scott leads the Lady Panthers averaging 15 points per game, while Nya Morris controls Claflin's boards and assists with 5.9 and 2.7 respectively.
