RICHMOND, VA (February 22, 2020)- The VSU women's basketball team fell to the Panthers of Virginia Union University on the road, 66-49, in their final regular season contest.
The Trojans end the 2019-2020 regular season with a 9-19 overall record, 4-10 in the conference.
The Game
Not wasting any time, Yamen Hannah landed a shot from behind the arc to jump start the Trojans early lead over the Panthers. Layups by
Brianna Jones and
Destiny Fuller assisted in VSU holding the lead, but several fouls on the Trojans sent VUU to the line giving them an advantage.
The lead was short lived as the Panthers took control for the remainder of the matchup. Although VSU entered the lock room with a halftime score of 37-24, the team was plagued with several missed shots, resulting in a 66-49 loss.

Controlling the court for the Trojans were
Yazmen Hannah and
Bianca White with 13 points each.
Tajah Clark and
Jalynn Spaulding each collected 4 rebounds for VSU.
Up Next
The VSU women's basketball team will travel to Charlotte, NC for the 2020 CIAA Basketball Tournament. The Trojans will tip off at 2:20pm on Tuesday, February 25 at the Bojangles Coliseum to face Livingstone College.
