The Game
The Trojans did not waste any time getting on the board to start the game with a perimeter shot by
Ryan Jones. VSU held strong to their momentum, but the Lions kicked their game into high gear minutes into the first half. With the score tied 15-all, Lincoln went on the brief run before the VSU bounced back with free throws by
Antwan Miles to tie the game 19-all and eventually take the lead. The Trojans worked to stay consistent on the court, entering the locker room with a 40-34 halftime lead.
Mimicking the first half, the score tied several times as both teams battled for the lead and control of the game. After the score tied 59-all with minutes left in regulation, a 3-pointer by Francis "BJ" Fitzgerald moved VSU ahead to begin their victory lap. The Trojans kept the Lions at a steady distance as the game progressed.
Lual Daniel Rahama gave VSU a much needed edge with a shot from behind the arc to give the Trojans a double-digit lead. Lincoln attempted to bounce back, but the VSU quickly secured their 82-73 victory.
