ETTRICK, VA (September 17, 2019)- The VSU football team has their sights set on their week 3 opponent, the Falcons of St. Augustine's University. The matchup will kickoff at 1pm on September 21 in Raleigh, NC at George Williams Athletic Complex.
The Trojans are coming off of a 35-16 win over UNC Pembroke, moving VSU to a 1-1 season record. The Falcons are currently 0-2 on the season after falling to Mars Hill, 46-14.
After beginning the series in 1906, the 12-4 record rules in favor VSU.
Leading VSU offensively is running back Darius Hagans with 23 carries for 187 yards, averaging 8.1 yards per carry, and a solo touchdown. Quarterback Cordelral Cook has completed 23-of 41 passes for 286 yards.
For the Hawks, Jeremiah Miller secured 34 carries for 113 yards, averaging 3.3 yards per carry and a solo touchdown. Quarterback Jalen Jones has completed 23-of 48 passes for 259 yards.
Defensively, Na'Shawn Reid-Carlos leads the Trojans with 10 solo tackles, whiles Chowan's Joseph Harris has collected 14 total tackles.
