ETTRICK, VA (Sept. 13, 2019)- The Virginia State University football team is gearing up for their inaugural game against the Braves of UNC Pembroke on Saturday September 14. Kickoff is set for 6pm.
VSU Athletics is marking the contest "A Day of Appreciation" to honor the hard work and dedication of the Military and VSU Faculty and Staff. Members of the respective groups, with a valid military or VSU ID, will be admitted into the game for FREE.
The Trojans enter their first home contest of the season with a 0-1 overall record after facing Norfolk State University on Sept. 7. The Braves defeated Winston-Salem State University on Sept. 7 to enter the contest with a 1-0 record.
Offensively, Cook finished with 16-of-25 pass completions for 207 yards, while Jordan Davis threw for 2 touchdown passes. Defensively, K'Jon Coley recorded a game high of 9 total tackles, 5 solo and 4 assisted.
