Virginia State Tennis Set to Travel for Upcoming Contests

Virginia State will face Bloomsburg and Kutztown on April 14

ETTRICK, Va. – Both the Virginia State University men's and women's tennis programs is set to travel to Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania to face Bloomsburg and Kutztown Universities on Saturday, Apr. 14 at Burt Reese Tennis Center. First serve is slated for 1 p.m.

 
Both the men's and women's tennis teams are coming off victories in the last contests. The Women's Tennis team (9-4, 5-3 CIAA, 4-0 North) are fresh off a 9-0 win against conference foe Virginia Union University on April 6. That victory gave Virginia State its 9th victory of the season, as they remain unbeaten in Northern division conference play.

VSU women's tennis will face a Bloomsburg team that is 7-5 on the season and have won their last six games. The Huskies secured a 9-0 victory over Kutztown in their last outing.

As for the men's contest, the Trojans snapped a three-game losing skid with a 5-4 win over Shepherd University on March 31.VSU currently stand 3-5 on the year. Bloomsburg's men's tennis team enter Saturday's match with a 4-7 overall record, after losing their last match (4-5) to Kutztown on Apr. 10.

Both matches will be the first meetings between Virginia State and Bloomsburg and Kutztown tennis this season.
