Murfreesboro, NC – The Virginia State University women's tennis team yielded a 9-0 decision in conference division play to Chowan University this afternoon.
With the outcome, the Trojans are now 14-2 overall with a 10-3 mark in CIAA action. Meanwhile, the Lady Hawks of Chowan improve to 16-8 with a 12-0 record in league play.
"Today's competition was a great one for us despite the loss and the girls closed out the regular season in a great way" said VSU head coach
Linda Person. Chowan who has a perfect season played a really good game. I am proud of our girls' effort because they had to really pull together and compete hard. It was a great day for us. We are focusing on the conference championship."
The Trojans will now prepare for the 2017 CIAA Women's Tennis Championship April 19-22 in Bowie, Md., on the campus of Bowie State University. Seeding's will be announced later on this week.
