ETTRICK, VA – The Virginia State Trojans (4-4, 1-1 CIAA) yielded a 9-0 decision to the Hawks of Chowan University at home this afternoon.
 
Farid Hajizada and Adi Kaliakperov defeated VSU's Sultan Kenes and Jonathan Fuchs from the No. 1 doubles position, 8-3. Mateuza Izycki/Mariano Yeh defeated Marcus Smith/Alexzander Walker in the No. 2 doubles for CU, 8-1, and Rafael Goncalves/Louis Proulx defeated Blaine Davies/Keon Halley in the No. 3 spot, 8-1.

Sultan Kenes put up a great fight but yielded a (7-5, 6-1) decision to Chowan, in the No. 1 single spot. Followed by Marcus Smith rallying for VSU but falling (6-1, 6-0) in the No. 2 single spot. The Trojans' No. 3 Jonathan Fuchs, No. 4 Blaine Davies, No. 5 Alexzander Walker  and No. 6 Keon Halley despite a great effort fell to their opponents to give Chowan the 9-0 match win.  


Virginia State men's tennis team will face the Bears of Shaw University Sunday, Mar. 26 in Murfreesboro, NC for the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Round-Up.
