RICHMOND, Va.- The Virginia State University women's tennis team defeated the Virginia Union University Panthers on the road, on March 31, to extend their record, 6-1.
The Panthers was able to gain a win in the single and double sets due to a Trojans forfeit.
Despite a slow start to the first doubles sets, junior
Sheila James and rookie
Sydney Yao were able to take an 8-3 win. Junior
Monet Graves and sophomore
Majhanae Thomas took an easy 8-0 win in the double set 2.
James, Yao, Graves, Thomas and junior
Annessa Taylor each collected a win in their respective single sets.
The Trojans rounded out the day taking a 7-2 win.
VSU will be in action on April 3 for a makeup game against Shaw University. The first serve is set to begin at 9am on the campus of Chowan University.
