ETTRICK, Va. – After dropping its home opener last weekend, the Virginia State University football team seeks its first win on the road at Kentucky State University Saturday, September 20 in Alumni Stadium at 4 p.m.

The Trojans (0-2) have gotten off to a slow start this season, losing to two tough non-conference opponents. One of which is ranked amongst the top 10 teams in Division II Football and the other a powerhouse in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).
KSU (1-1) on the other hand, is coming off a tough 13-6 loss to Johnson C. Smith on last weekend and looks to revive itself against VSU.
Junior
Jaivon Smallwood has led Virginia State offensively, thus far. Smallwood has been relentless in the receiving the ball, with 10 receptions for 171 yards.
Defensively, senior captain
Brandon Robinson and junior
Bryce Bradley lead the Trojans with 16 tackles each.
Justin Williams leads Kentucky State offensively with 245 yards rushing on 27 carries and two touchdowns on the season.
