MURFREESBORO, NC- The Virginia State University women's tennis team falls to 5-2 on the season and 3-2 in CIAA play after an 8-1 CIAA Northern Division lost to Chowan University on March 20.  The Hawks move to 11-6 on the season and 5-0 in CIAA play.
The Trojans succumbed in doubles play as the Hawks took an early 3-0 lead heading into singles competition. Brittany Uzzell and Zaire Simmons were topped by Natalya Kamenshchikova and Holly Stambaugh, 8-5 while Kayla Kale, Nakesha Harry, Sharmane Tonkins and Jessica Smith surrendered wins to their opponents.
The Trojans will take on Virginia Union University in Richmond, VA on March 23 at 12:00 pm.
