PETERSBURG, VA- The Virginia State University women's tennis team took to the court to defeat the Virginia Union Lady Panthers, 9-0, on Sunday, February 23. This was the first match of the season for the Trojans after several canceled games due to inclement weather.

Virginia State turned up the heat, winning every single and double set. Both Brittany Uzzell and Jessica Smith stood out in the singles, limiting the Panthers from scoring.

The Trojans will be back in action at home to take on the Bowie State University Bulldogs on March 3 at 3:00pm.
