Game notesETTRICK, Va. – The Virginia State University football team takes a four-game winning streak into Bowie, Md. to face the Bowie State University Bulldogs, Saturday, Oct. 18 in Bulldog Stadium at 4 p.m. for Bowie's Homecoming.

The Trojans are 4-2 overall and 3-0 in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association while entering Saturday's contest coming off a 42-14 victory over Elizabeth City State University last Saturday afternoon in Rogers Stadium.
Sophomore quarterback
Tarian Ayres ranks second in the conference in yards per game with 224.7; while leading the conference in rushing touchdowns with (5). Junior running back Kevon Bellamy ranks tenth in the conference in yards rushing per game with (60.7).
Senior linebacker
Brandon Robinson ranks tenth in the league with 42 total tackles; while fellow senior linebacker
Andre Rawls ranks second on the team in tackles with (36) total; including five tackles for a loss, five pass deflections, four pass breakups, two fumble recoveries, an interception, a force fumble, and a sack.
The Bulldogs enter Saturday's contest 2-4 overall and 2-1 in conference play.
The VSU Athletic Department continues its' "1000 Cans, One Goal" campaign initiative at every home game through Friday, Nov. 21. The purpose of the initiative is to support the local food banks in helping feed the less fortunate during the holiday season. Donors are asked to either bring can goods to any VSU Athletic home game (football, basketball, volleyball, and/or cross-country) and/or drop your items off to the Athletic Department.
