Box Score ETTRICK, Va. – For the second time this season, Virginia State University's senior linebacker Andre Rawls was named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association Linebacker of the Week.
 
The Franklin, Va. native recorded seven tackles (6 solo); including two pass breakups, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and a tackle for loss in the 42-14 victory over Elizabeth City State University this past Saturday.
 
 VSU returns to the gridiron Saturday, Oct. 18 to face Bowie State University in Bulldog Stadium at 4 p.m. (ET).
 
The VSU Athletic Department continues its' "1000 Cans, One Goal" campaign initiative at every home game through Friday, Nov. 21. The purpose of the initiative is to support the local food banks in helping feed the less fortunate during the holiday season. Donors are asked to either bring can goods to any VSU Athletic home game (football, basketball, volleyball, and/or cross-country) and/or drop your items off to the Athletic Department.
