Virginia State University took a 9-0 CIAA conference women's tennis victory past Virginia Union University on Sunday in Petersburg, VA. Amanda Spencer and Sharmane Tonkins each earned wins in singles for the Trojans, both winning 6-0.

Against Virginia Union in the match-opening doubles competition, Nakesha Harry and Brittany Uzzell won at No.1, 8-0. Zaire Simmons and Amanda Spencer won at No.2, also 8-0. The duo of Sharmane Tonkins and Kayla Kale picked up an 8-2 win at No.3, as the Trojans took all three doubles matches over the Lady Panthers.

In singles, Amanda Spencer won at No.1, 6-0, 6-0. Zaire Simmons won at No.2, 6-3,6-2. Brittany Uzzell won at No.3, 6-1, 6-0. Nakesha Harry won at No. 4, 6-1, 6-1. Sharmane Tonkins won at No.5, 6-0, 6-0. Kayla Kale won at No. 6 6-0, 6-1.
The Trojans picked up their second won of the season with a 9-0 victory over Virginia Union.
