In their final home match of the 2012 season, the Lady Trojans swept through Coppin State 9-0 on April 9th in Petersburg, VA. The Lady Trojans improve to 13-6 overall at home this season.

VSU's Amanda Spencer (sophomore/ Los Angeles, CA) teamed up with Zaire Simmons (freshman/ Sandy's, Bermuda) and won 8-2 against Coppin State's Sharise Coppin and Lauretta Mukam at the number one doubles spot. Freshman duo, Nakesha Harry (St. Vincent, West Indies) and Sharmane Tonkins (Newport News, VA) picked up a 9-7 win in the second doubles match, while Valencia Williams (junior/ Norfolk, VA) and Alexis McDowell (freshman (Suffolk, VA) won 8-2 over Coppin State's Kristine Bindule and Janka Schmitt.

This was the Lady Trojans' ninth sweep of the season. VSU travels to Washington, DC on April 10th to face the University of District of Columbia at 3:00 pm.
