Jason-Lamont Jackson Sr., enters his seventh season at the helm of the Men’s and Women’s Cross Country and Track & Field Programs.  His combined program has risen to the top of the CIAA Conference, as well as many individuals being recognized at the Regional and National Level. Most recently, during the 2016 outdoor season, graduating seniors Justin Williams and AJ Ashton each broke the school record while claiming All-American Status in the Men’s 110 Hurdles at the NCAA Championships.

Prior to taking over in Petersburg, Jackson spent four years (2006-2010) as an Assistant Coach at Seton Hall University, where he was the sprints, hurdles and multi event coach.  Jackson’s coaching career began in South Orange / Maplewood, NJ at Columbia HS where he was the Head Boys and Girls XC / T&F Coach for 8 years (1998- 2006). His passion for Cross Country and Track & Field has become a part of his life.  In 2010, Jackson wrote the foreword for the published book “Winning Track & Field for Girls” (2nd edition).
 
Jackson earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (‘96), Master’s Degree in Corporate Communications (’98), and a Master’s Level Certificate in Sport and Exercise Psychology (‘10) all from Seton Hall University.  Jackson holds USATF level II Certifications in Sprints & Hurdles, Jumps, Endurance and Combined Events.  He also holds an IAAF / USATF Level III Certification in Jumps (2013) and Sprints / Hurdles (2014). Jackson serves as the 2016-2017 Secretary of the USTFCCCA Division II XC Committee and he is an Executive Council Member of the Law & Legislation Committee.
