Virginia State University Athletics

 
Lamont Johnson is going in to his second year with the Trojans, specializing in the short sprints and sprint relays. Johnson comes to Petersburg after a year at Eastern Michigan University; where he quickly energized the women’s short sprint group and a very successful time at the Academy of Art University where the Urban Knights won the 2013 Indoor and Outdoor NCAA Division II Championships.

Johnson earned his B.A., in sociology with a Minor in Criminal Justice from Iowa State in 2003.  He also holds an associate’s degree in Physical Education from Long Beach City College. 

Originally from the Bronx, NY, Johnson is a member of Phi Beta Sigma, Fraternity Incorporated and resides in Petersburg.
