Jeff Hamilton is entering his seventh year as head golf coach at Virginia State University.
In 2008, 2010, and 2011 the Trojans captured the CIAA Golf Championship. Hamilton was named CIAA Golf Coach of the Year on 2008, 2010, and 2011.
In 2011, VSU won its first-ever National Minority Championship at the 2011 PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championships in Port St. Lucia, FL.
Under Hamilton, VSU qualified for the Atlantic Regionals in six consecutive seasons from 2007 thru 2012. In 2007 and 2012 the Trojans competed in the Atlantic Regionals as individuals. VSU placed third in 2008 and 2009, but improved to second place in 2010 at the PGA Nationals Minority Championship in Florida. VSU has competed individually in 2007 and 2012.
He also led the Trojans to an undefeated record in the CIAA Conference in 2010 and 2011, the only team to achieve this honor in CIAA golf history.
On April 17, 2013 Jeff Hamilton was awarded Golf Coach of the Year. Hamilton has over 40 years of teaching experience along with running his own business, Hamilton's Pro Shop for over 20 years.
