ETTRICK, VA. – The HBCU D2 Football Coaches Poll Powered by BOXTOROW released its Week Three Rankings on Tuesday as Virginia State moved up three spots to #6 after a dominating conference victory against St. Augustine's.
The sixth-place ranking comes after the Trojans overpowered St. Augustine's 42-7 on the brand new field turf in Rogers stadium.
Virginia Union defeated Livingstone 42-6 to stay unbeaten and remain No. 1 among D2 HBCU's. Fayetteville State remains in the fifth spot after defeating Lincoln (Pa.) 19-7. Bowie State fell from no. 3 to no. 7 after losing to Shaw 14-17. Shaw snuck their way into the top-10 at no. 9 after a solid win against Bowie State 17-14.
The Trojans will travel down to Salisbury, NC to check out the blue field turf at Livingstone as they look to extend their two-game win streak to three. The matchup will take place Saturday, September 24 at 4:00 p.m.
