Trojans Look to Notch Third Conference Victory Against LC

Ettrick, VA – The Virginia State Women's Tennis team will hit the road to face off against Livingstone College (0-4) on Tuesday, March 29 at 1:00 p.m.
 

Virginia State (2-0) is coming off a 4-2 victory against Elizabeth City State to make the Trojans 2-0 in conference play this season. VSU got off to a good start, claiming 2-of-3 doubles matches after losing a match due to a forfeit. The tandem of Ashleigh Charles and Ginger Johnson won 6-2 while Jayce Gaither and Zimaris Smith won 6-0. Asleigh Charles (1-1) was bested her opponent 6-1, 6-0 on the first court but Ginger Johnson made up for it beating her opponent 6-0, 6-0 (2-0) on the second court. Jayce Gaither (2-0) earned her second victory of the season beating her opponent 6-1, 6-0. Zimaris Smith (2-0) was able to earn a victory on the fourth court 6-3, 6-0.
