LINCOLN, PA – After outscoring Lincoln (Pa.) 28-14 in the second half, the Trojans were able to earn the blowout victory to stay unbeaten against the Lions 42-21.

- Upton Bailey was a walking highlight reel in the contest rushing for a career-high 183 yards on just 15 carries along with three touchdowns (17 yards, 43 yards, 52 yards). This makes the second straight 100-yard rushing game for Bailey. He also added a pair of catches for 27 yards.

FIRST HALF
- Following a scoreless first quarter, the Lions were able to strike first in the contest scoring on a 29-yard rush to take a 7-0 lead with 10:19 left to go in the second quarter.
- The Trojans would immediately answer with a touchdown of their own as Jordan Davis plunged two yards into the endzone for a touchdown to make it 7-6 after a failed point after attempt. The Trojans left 7:01 in the half after their touchdown.
- The drive that changed the complexion of the game is when the VSU offense grinded out a 6:01, 14-play, 95-yard drive that ended with a eight-yard strike from Jordan Davis to Tylique Ray as time expired in the half. After Jabari Blake scored the two-point conversion, the Trojans took a 14-7 lead into the half time break.
- Virginia State led 14-7 into halftime.
SECOND HALF
- After a three-and-out by the Trojans offense, the Lions capitalized scoring on a four-yard rush to tie the game at 14 all with 11:48 left to go in the third quarter.
- The Trojans only needed six plays to find the endzone and regain the lead 21-14 after Kimo Clarke scored on a 12-yard rush with 4:09 left in the third quarter.
- On the following kickoff, Zachariah Johnson forced a fumbled which was recovered by DJ Goodwyn on the Lincoln (Pa.) 22 yardline.
- Virginia State went on to take advantage of the field position and scored in just three plays with a 17-yard rush by Upton Bailey to increase their lead to 27-14 after a failed two-point conversion. The score left 3:10 remaining in the third quarter.
- Following a fumble by the Trojans, the Lions were able to take over on the 13 yardline of VSU.
- Lincoln (Pa.) scored in just four plays after completing a 19-yard pass into the endzone to make the score 27-21 as time expired in the third quarter.
- Upton Bailey was able to break off a long run of 43 yards to the endzone to increase the VSU lead to 35-21 with 4:49 left in the fourth quarter after Jabari Blake converted his second two-point conversion of the contest.
- Following a fourth down stop by the VSU defense, the offense took over on their own 48 yardline. On the first play of the drive, Upton Bailey completed the hat trick scoring his third rushing touchdown of the game on a 52-yard scamper to the endzone to make it 42-21 with 4:02 left in the game.
- Following another fourth down stop by the defense, the offense took over on their own 43 yardline with 2:08 left in the contest.
- The Trojans were able to maintain possession of the ball until time expired in the fourth quarter to earn the victory 42-21.
