ETTRICK, VA - The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA), in conjunction with the CIAA Cheerleading Coaches Association, announced the 2018-19 All-CIAA Cheerleading Team.
Of the student-athletes selected from the 13 CIAA member institutions, Virginia State University Athletics had a Trojan to secure a spot on the team, representing the world renowned VSU Woo Woos.
In her second year with the Woo Woos, junior Imani Tynes-McClain has been named to the 2018-19 All-CIAA Cheerleading Team. The Norfolk, VA native is a scholar athlete, majoring in Management Information Systems. Imani is a well-rounded student-athlete with numerous accomplishments and organizational roles on her resume. She is a member of the VSU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), the 2018-19 Miss Gold 1st Runner-Up for the Beta Gamma Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., an iDance Fitness Scholarship and KLM Scholarship recipient, and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.
Imani's leadership and dedication in the classroom, in the community and during games and performances shows that she is well deserving of the selection.
The 2018-19 All-CIAA team will be recognized at Super Saturday of the CIAA Basketball Tournament on March 2, 2019 as part of the cheerleading exhibition.
