WINSTON-SALEM, NC- The VSU Trojans women's tennis team dominated the courts on March 5-6 at the CIAA Roundup in Winston-Salem, NC. This was the opening weekend for the Trojans as they defeated Winston-Salem State, Johnson C. Smith and Livingstone, bringing home a 3-0 record.
Under the leadership of Head Coach Linda Person, 3 of the 6 student-athletes made their first VSU tennis match debut.
On March 5 for match one, the Trojans took down WSSU with a final score of 7-2.
The Trojan swept the Lady Rams in the doubles to start the match.
VSU's #1 single was junior

Majhanae Thomas stepped in for the 3
rd and 5
th singles game, tallying VSU's wins. Junior
Annessa Taylor had 2 close sets, but was able to take the 6
th singles game for the Trojans.
After a quick break, the Trojans took to the courts to defeat the Golden Bulls of Johnson C. Smith with a final score of 9-0.
The Trojans stayed consistent, minimizing The Golden Bulls scoring opportunities.
On the final day of the Roundup, VSU faced the Livingstone Blue Bears for an 8-1 win.
VSU collected an automatic wins in a double and single game, due to a forfeit by the Blue Bears.

Tamisha Richardson followed suit.
The Trojans controlled single games 2-5, giving them the overall 8-1 win.
VSU will be back in action on March 8 to take on the VUU Lady Panthers at 3pm at the VSU Tennis Complex. This will be the first home match for the team.
