Coach Scott Departs for NSU

ETTRICK, Va.- Virginia State University's Head Football Coach Latrell Scott has resigned to accept the same position at Norfolk State University. In two seasons as VSU's head coach, Scott compiled a 19-4 record. The Trojans won the CIAA championship this year and captured the CIAA Northern Division in both 2013 and 2014. Scott was also the 2014 CIAA Coach of the Year.

"We were very fortunate to have Latrell Scott as our Head Football Coach," said VSU Athletic Director Peggy Davis.  "Over the past two seasons, Coach Scott's football program enjoyed consistent success on the field and in the classroom. We thank Coach Scott for his dedication, leadership and accomplishments. Coach Scott and his staff worked tirelessly and brought VSU its first CIAA football championship since 1996. Our football team advanced to the NCAA Division II Super Region One play-offs and won the first playoff game in VSU's history.  We wish Coach Scott and his family the very best in their future endeavors. We will immediately begin the search for a football coach who will commit to building upon our achievements."
